Your responsibilities
* Reporting to the Team Leader, as a Mechanical Assembler you will build various mechanical products using a variety of hand and power tools, some of which are calibrated. Your role will involve testing and packaging of products also.
* Assemble, test and pack products in accordance with Device History Records (DHR) and assembly methods.
* Ensure all components and tools used are fit for purpose, and comply with any procedures.
* Establish and maintain good housekeeping using 6S techniques.
* Record assembly times accurately using the shop floor data capture system.
* Assist the Picking team in the transfer of jigs and picking dollies, to reduce downtime.
* Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
* Support the Team Leader in the achievement of KPI targets.
* A good command of written and spoken English is essential.
* PC proficiency including data entry and common applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) is essential.
* Prior experience in a Manufacturing or Factory environment is highly desirable.
* Prior experience using power tools and/or calibrated equipment is highly desirable.
* You enjoy working as part of a team, but have the self-motivation to contribute independently.
* This role requires you to be on your feet for extended periods of time during your general day to day activities. Some lifting of components within Health & Safety regulation limits will be required, along with the pushing and manoeuvring of various assembly aids.
