68127 | Underwriting | Professional | Non-Executive | Allianz UK | Full-Time | Permanent Role Description Salary circa £45k – Bristol (hybrid – 3 days a week in office) An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Underwriter to join our successful Regional Financial Lines team at Allianz, based in Bristol. As part of this growth and ambition, we are now looking for a talented, ambitious and passionate underwriting professional to join us on our journey to build a ‘Best in Industry’ team which sets the gold standard within the Allianz Group. The role will include everything from pricing risks, chasing in new business, and analysing claims data, to implementing bespoke scheme arrangements; including answering day to day queries from Brokers, and ensuring that renewal terms are sent out in accordance with our compliance rules and regulations, developing broker relationships through regular broker visits and collaborating with your colleagues in other departments to support our ambitious growth plans. To be successful in this role, we would expect you to have a background in casualty underwriting, ideally, but not limited to Professional Indemnity or D&O. As a part of our successful team you will be expected to: Provide excellent service to our Customers Collaborate and build a successful relationship with the Regional and wider UK Financial Lines Team Build successful broker relationships Achieve agreed financial performance targets Collaborate strongly with other departments to achieve the Company's goals in respect of service delivery Process renewals and mid-term adjustments Send out documents to Brokers ensuring that we adhere to compliance and regulation About You We are looking for a self-motivated and talented individual to join our successful Financial Lines Team in Bristol. You will be part of a close-knit team that works well together, to consistently deliver strong results. We are looking for someone that has an excellent knowledge of the Professional Indemnity and Directors and Officers market and experience in writing new and profitable business, but we would equally welcome applications from those with experience in any underwriting. Your role will also include, developing broker relationships (including regular broker visits) and collaborating with your colleagues in other departments to support our ambitious growth plans. This is a very varied role and an exciting opportunity and would suit someone who thrives on being challenged and enjoys every day being different and varied. Essential skills and experience: Underwrite new business enquiries received by brokers, actively engage in prospecting activities to secure new business growth. Negotiate within authority and referring where appropriate to maximise customer growth including persuading, influencing and convincing customers of the benefits of an opposed course of action. Track record as a confident negotiator. The ability to build, develop and maintain positive broker relationships. A good team player, supportive to others with an enthusiastic and positive attitude Highly customer focused with ability to build broker relationships. Good influencing and negotiation skills. Strong capability for team working. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative Strong trading skills Desirable skills and experience: Experience of Financial Lines underwriting preferred, but not essential Provide suggestions to continuously improve the business in an ever-changing environment Support the wider teams by being proactive, enthusiastic and by challenging yourself to go out of your comfort zone Commitment to undertaking and progressing towards CII qualifications Good trading skills and a confident negotiator, with proven experience in handling large cases. Data analysis skills and ability to make recommendations and decisions. Strong collaboration skills.
