Part Time Bookkeeper
Location: Hillington
Coughtrie International are looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper with a minimum of 4 years of bookkeeping experience. Our ideal candidate is someone who is a self-starter and has a keen eye for detail. In this role, you will carry out basic management accounting tasks and office administration whilst supporting the Managing Director.
You will be well-versed in bookkeeping tasks (e.g., sales & purchase invoices and ledgers, bank reconciliations, VAT, year-end returns, payroll & pension etc.). You will also assist in the running of day-to-day and longer-term projects and tasks such as stock counts.
Hours of work:
26.5 hours per week (Mon – Thu 09.00 – 15.00, Fri 09.00 – 14.00)
Salary: Pro-Rata
Coughtrie is a small business with 13 staff and all employees should be willing to help out wherever required. Therefore, this role will not suit someone who wishes to process paperwork whilst sitting behind a desk all day. This requires someone who is dynamic, hands-on, and is prepared to learn about our business and products. We are looking for someone who makes things happen.
You will be responsible for the following:
1. Management and maintenance of the Company bank accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
2. VAT Returns, invoice processing, and balancing accounts by reconciling entries.
3. Maintenance of a general ledger/cash position.
4. Posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
5. Maintenance of records of financial transactions and running reports through bookkeeping systems.
6. Liaising and building relations with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications Needed:
1. A minimum of 4 years+ practical bookkeeping experience with relevant Financial Qualification.
2. Experience in accounting practices and knowledge of payroll is essential.
3. Excellent communication skills, time management skills, and a flexible approach to support ad hoc tasks are essential.
4. Good Excel skills are essential.
5. Able to maintain confidentiality and deal with issues sensitively.
6. Ability to prioritize and manage workload and multiple projects effectively at pace.
7. Have an understanding of purchase order and sales order processes.
You must have the right to work in the UK.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year (Pro-Rata)
