About The Post We are excited to be recruiting to the role of Technical Officer in our busy Pollution Team, here in Barnsley the place of possibilities. The successful candidate will play an important role in protecting the public, being primarily involved in the delivery of local air quality management, along with providing expert air quality advice to key internal and external partners. To join us, you’ll need an accredited Level 6 qualification relevant to the work of the team. Substantial knowledge and experience of environmental monitoring, complex computer modelling, and of writing and interpreting complex scientific reports is essential. Experience of the Statutory Local Air Quality Management regime and associated legislation, as well as providing specialist advice to senior colleagues, elected members, the public and partner agencies. Knowledge of environmental legislation is also essential. You will also bring to the role a commitment to work flexibly, and an appetite for engaging in continuous training and professional development in this rewarding field of work.
