Nurse Development - to Train as a HV in 2025
NHS AfC: Band 5
Job overview
Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber NHS Foundation Trust 0-5 Doncaster is offering an exciting opportunity to train to become a Health Visitor. Prior to starting the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Course at Masters PG dip level, you will work within the Health Visiting team and learn the core skills of the 0-5 service.
The 0-5 Service provides seamless provision of the Healthy Child Programme to local families. We are passionate about growing our own talent and providing aspiring students with a solid foundation of experiential learning to prepare them for study and a band 6 professional role. The development year offers the opportunity to explore all pathways within the 0-5 service and build a solid skill set for working in the community as a Public Health Practitioner.
Our Health Visiting teams deliver provision at Community, Universal/ Universal Plus and Universal Partnership Plus levels. The service is delivered through progressive universalism. This ensures that our practitioners gain skills in both early intervention and prevention as well as working with vulnerable families and safeguarding. This approach is underpinned by a single point of contact (SPOC) which manages unplanned appointments.
