Shift Electrical Multi-skilled Engineer
Our client, one of the UK's premier manufacturers of civil and construction steel products, is looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work within their manufacturing facilities in the Neath area. The key to this role is the ability to work within a fast-moving production and manufacturing company that supplies products into the civil engineering and construction industry, maintaining and fault-finding on a range of electrical and mechanical systems and controls including drives, motors, control panels, single and three-phase, as well as helping the mechanical engineers with hydraulics, pneumatics, cutting and bending machines, and machine shop equipment.
The Role
This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment, focusing on mechanical-biased roles within our client's facilities. Mechanical experience or production and manufacturing equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, cutting and bending machines, cranes, etc., with some electrical knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems, motors, drives, and controls is required. The role requires applicants who have reactive and proactive maintenance and repair experience as well as fault-finding experience. This is a heavy engineering type of role and requires applicants to work on a shift pattern of early and nights on rotation. Overtime will be available and is plentiful.
The Person
Applicants will preferably have present or previous mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair experience. Applicants with fault-finding experience would be ideal. Candidates should have knowledge of fault-finding and repairing manufacturing production equipment; although the industry may be different, training will be given. Applicants should be suitably qualified mechanically and, if possible, within electrical engineering, ideally for the role 16/17th or 18th edition, time served but should ideally be multi-skilled.
