Main duties of the job
* To be based at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust; however, the Post holder must be flexible to work across areas covered by the Midlands Training Academy including Birmingham City Campus (BCU).
* To work with existing Senior Endoscopy Practitioner to create a positive learning environment in endoscopy for all staff groups including Registered Nurses, students, HCA's, Nursing associates, and decontamination technicians ensuring staff are valued and supported in delivering high-quality care.
* To support the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Midlands Training Academy Faculty in the provision of training to medical and clinical endoscopists within the trust and taking part in teaching courses at BCU.
* To work in support of the lead nurse undertaking delegated duties as directed, assisting the implementation of prescribed care within NICE guidelines for patients undertaking Endoscopy Procedures and reporting any changes of a patient's condition to the lead nurse or Consultants.

Job responsibilities
* To act as a role model to provide high-quality patient-centered care to patients undertaking endoscopy and ensure full compliance with JAG standards for endoscopy care.
* To maintain own competence by working within the endoscopy workforce including being part of the 24-hour emergency Rota.
* Provide teaching to all staff and ensure effective supervision and assessment of all staff within the endoscopy environment.
* Develop and evaluate learning materials.
* Ensure effective supervision and assessment of students and trainees within the endoscopy environment and promote clinical supervision activity.
* Act as a role model and empower others within the endoscopy team, always promoting professional practice.
* Create links with endoscopy units within the locality and actively source national resources to promote shared learning.
* To ensure high-quality, relevant, and up-to-date patient information.
