BirdLife International is seeking a Nature-based Solutions Programme Manager for their Climate Change Programme in Cambridge, UK. We are looking for an innovative and dynamic programme manager for the BirdLife Climate Change Programme.

This role will lead the development of portfolios of Nature-based Solutions projects across the BirdLife Partnership and support the development and implementation of the BirdLife Climate Change Programme, which mobilizes governments and society to adopt emission-reducing policies, nature-based climate solutions, and a rapid, nature-safe transition to renewable energy.
How you will do this:
1. Developing the grassland and other Nature-based Solutions (NbS) portfolios in close coordination with all regions.
2. Overseeing feasibility studies, building project capacity, and pursuing funding.
3. Supporting other Nature-based Solutions (NbS) portfolios—for example, wetland projects—by collaborating with regional offices, developing best practices, building capacity, and advancing fundraising opportunities.
4. Collaborating with staff across the BirdLife Secretariat’s Climate Change Programme, including Conservation, Science, Policy, and Regional Divisions, to ensure effective cross-team communication.
5. Assisting the Head of Climate and Forests with programme coordination – including organizing meetings, enhancing communication, tracking progress, and supporting fundraising efforts.
6. Aiding the Policy Division with climate objectives as needed.
Ideally you will have:
1. Masters’ Degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in a conservation or environmental subject.
2. Demonstrable knowledge and proven experience in developing and implementing Nature-based Solutions projects, preferably including grassland or wetland restoration.
3. Good knowledge of international and/or national climate change and biodiversity policy.
4. Experience of developing sustainable finance initiatives, preferably including carbon projects.
5. Experience of project management.
6. Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with careful attention to detail.
7. Ability to analyze complex problems and think strategically.
8. Ability to network and collaborate with others, with cultural sensitivity.
9. Ability to manage own workload and know when to seek advice from others.
