Job Description: Transport Planner for iPort in Doncaster, planning, directing and controlling transport fleet activities to optimise cost-effectiveness and resource use, providing high-quality service to internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Understand and utilise Woodland Logistics operating systems to benefit the operation.
* Ensure successful supervision and communication of work allocation at the site, prioritising service and cost.
* Assist central transport team with contract-wide operational matters and address ad-hoc transport requests or issues.
* Work with management to identify and address service delivery concerns or failures.
* Understand customer operational requirements and follow correct procedures to meet these, exceeding expectations.
* Ensure site needs are consistently met by central transport management team.
* Engage with customers to ensure maximum operational satisfaction and performance.
* Ensure effective communication with management and transport team in all matters.
* Manage driver daily workflow and daily driver debrief process.
* Ensure correct maintenance of operational reports and transport documentation.
* Assist in controlling vehicle maintenance and service requirements.
* Address day-to-day operational concerns within the driver fleet and transport team.
* Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation and work in accordance with this.
* Understand Operating License obligations and work with management to ensure these are met.
* Highlight any concerns in this regard to management.
* Consistently promote Company policy and procedure, including health and safety.
* Work on ad-hoc and contract-specific projects as required by management.
* Perform any other duties as required by management for the smooth and efficient operation of the department.
* Work with operations team to continually improve processes and business performance.
* Support changes in the role necessary to take the department and business forward.
* Work to achieve personal objectives set at appraisal and/or those set monthly or quarterly.

* You are a flexible decision maker who can make decisions and think outside the box to deliver service excellence across the entire Woodland logistics fleet for all out-of-hours work.
