You can find out more in this video: Unable to show this video due to your cookie preferences What you can expect to be doing: You will be undertaking strengths-based assessments, support planning and reviews to support customers to achieve their outcomes and promote their independence be working as part of a busy team and alongside other teams within the local authority completing Mental Capacity Assessments and Court of Protection Multi-disciplinary practice will be integral to the role, and you will be working in co-located teams alongside health colleagues, which include Psychologists, Psychiatrist, Community Nurses, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist. About you: You will be a dynamic social worker, passionate about working with learning disabilities with a strong value base and sense of person-centred practice. be creative and passionate about enabling people to be as independent as possible. have the ability to work and contribute to a team. have excellent innovation skills with a flexible approach when needed. have excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a flexible approach and be able to work closely with a range of professionals. need to be confident with the legal basis for practice and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Health Act 2007, Human Rights Act 1998 and Equality Act 2010. embrace continuous professional development You must have a degree or equivalent in social work and be registered with Social Work England and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of this position.
