So, if you're ready to take your career to new heights, read on In a nutshell As an Assistant Materials Supplier you will assist the Materials Suppliers, engineering teams and Management with overseeing all parts and material movements within the network of Virgin Atlantic Engineering Stores, supporting accurate transactions of all inventory movements on the computerised inventory system. On the job training will be provided for all required tasks & functions required to be successful within the role. Day to day Assist with the picking and the packaging of materials and assist in the Dispatch areas to ensure requirements are met. Controlled movement of spares between off site warehouses, Hangar, and line operations. On wing support to ensure spares are available in a timely manner to our live operation Maintain a clean and tidy area in the warehouse and outside areas. Assist within the stores areas and ensure that the airworthiness & bonded status is maintained at all times. Ensure materials are handled & stored safely and packed to all required specifications. Ongoing monitoring of the Store Operation effectiveness - supporting the Material Supplier team with adaptation and creation of procedures to support. Perform periodic checks of tooling, managing the inventory and maintaining appropriate records. Ensure valuable stock is correctly handled and stored; this includes both tooling & consumable material control. Assist with the continued compliance of the Stores area Managing stock level and Inventory control of key components and consumables such as oil and wheels. Maintain the required standards of housekeeping and cleanliness. Ensure the vehicles remain clean and tidy at all times, reporting deficiencies in a timely manner. Reporting of any failure to follow processes and procedures via internal reporting mechanisms. About you If you meet or exceed the criteria below, we'd love to hear from you: Demonstrates ability to work well on their own, using their initiative as well as in a team. Basic experience in Aviation warehousing or Supply chain. Clean driving licence. Good written & verbal communication ability with attention to detail and good standard of numeracy. Forklift Truck license - Preferrable. The right candidate will be supported through training. Able to apply integrity and good practise across all activities and initiatives. Demonstrates self-motivation skills and flexibility. Excellent problem-solving skills. Experience in performing stock counts preferrable but not essential. Strong adherence to health and safety practices. Flexible in working different hours to adapt to the needs of a live operation.
