Next year Lowry celebrates its 25th birthday having opened to the public in April 2000. As part of this, we will hold a year of celebration with various events and activities marking the occasion. As part of Lowry Turns 25, we are commissioning an art installation for a prominent location in the Lowry building. The installation will feature recordings of people sharing their memories of Lowry and the transformation of the Salford Quays area. Lowry has been a part of many people’s lives – from people who have visited shows and exhibitions, artists who have performed, staff, volunteers, and even people who have celebrated major life events including weddings and graduations with us.
We welcome applicants who have the following:
1. Essential Experience recording interviews to be shared publicly e.g. oral histories, podcasts, radio interviews.
2. Ability to make people from a range of different backgrounds feel comfortable and confident being recorded and sharing their own experiences.
3. Ability to record interviews to a high standard, taking the lead on both recording processes and content to ensure the quality of both.
4. Either based in Greater Manchester or willing to travel regularly to record the majority of interviews in the area.
5. Willing to occasionally travel further afield to other locations within the UK as required; expenses for travel outside of Greater Manchester will be covered.
6. Confident in the use of professional-standard audio recording equipment.
Desirable:
1. Experience of line management, or similar experience supporting people to work towards a shared outcome.
