Sales and Marketing Manager in Sheffield – Exclusive Racquets & Fitness Club

Our client is an exclusive, members-only racquets club that provides a premier experience for individuals passionate about tennis, squash, and other racquet sports. With a focus on exceptional service, social engagement, they aim to create a vibrant community for our members. We are recruiting for a proactive, dynamic, and experienced Sales and Marketing Manager to oversee the club’s day-to-day operations and contribute to its growth and success.
The Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for ensuring a high level of service for the members, meeting financial goals, and driving the growth of the club. This role combines team management, strategic planning, marketing and financial management. The Sales and Marketing Manager will be pivotal in enhancing the members' experience while supporting the club's long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
* Oversee all financial operations of the Club, working closely with the Club’s accountants. This includes full accountability for budgeting, cash flow, profit and loss (P&L) management, and overall fiscal oversight, with assistance from Finance support
Membership & Customer Service:
* Develop and implement strategies to recruit and retain members, ensuring the club maintains a strong, engaged community.
* Act as the primary point of contact for members, addressing concerns, resolving issues, and gathering feedback to improve services.
Team Leadership & Management:
* Lead, motivate, and manage a team of staff, including FOH, bar and club maintenance
* Conduct performance reviews, manage recruitment, and support staff development and training.
* Ensure adherence to club policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
* Oversee all aspects of human resources, including policy development, recruitment and retention, staff development, cultivating a positive workplace culture, and monitoring employee performance.
Marketing & Communications:
* Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the club, attract new members, and increase visibility in the local community.
* Oversee the club’s digital presence, including the website, social media, and newsletters, ensuring consistent and professional communication.
* Build relationships with local businesses and stakeholders to enhance the club’s profile and attract potential members.
Strategy & Development:
* Contribute to the development of the club’s long-term strategy, identifying new opportunities for growth and improvement.
* Lead projects that enhance the member experience, such as facility upgrades, new services, or membership offerings.
* Stay informed of industry trends and best practices to keep the club competitive and innovative.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Business Manager, General Manager, or similar role, you must have this within a sports/ fitness/ racquets or members-only club environment
* Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and profitabilit
* Experience in team management/ leadership, and performance development
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, staff, and external stakeholders
* A passion for sports and an understanding of the racquets club environment is highly desirable
* Ability to think strategically and adapt to changing market trends.
