Commissioning Engineer / Control Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer required to join a global engineering manufacturer.
The successful Commissioning Engineer / Control Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer shall install, commission, and service high-pressure gas and hydrogen systems, perform testing and PLC programming, conduct client-side Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) in various industries including renewables, defence, oil & gas across Europe. This is a remote role, predominantly working at customer sites across Europe; therefore, regular staying away is required.
Commissioning Engineer / Control Systems Engineer / Automation Engineer will ideally have experience in commissioning technical engineering systems with proficiency in electronic control systems, PLC controls, automation software, high-pressure systems, hydrogen applications, pump technologies, hydraulic systems, process systems, or similar within mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities
1. Mechanical installation and commissioning of high-pressure engineering equipment.
2. Perform thorough testing, PLC programming, and leak checks on hydrogen systems.
3. Provide on-site servicing and repair of customer equipment, ensuring high-pressure gas systems are operational and meet client requirements.
4. Identifying and providing the customer with improvements, upgrades, or general aftercare of high-pressure gas and hydrogen products and services.
5. Conduct client-side Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
6. Installing various natural gas and hydrogen systems into all forms of the manufacturing industry.
7. Deliver training activities for customers on high-pressure equipment use and maintenance.
8. Working out of the workshop near Sunderland when not visiting customer sites across Europe.
9. Liaise with various engineering departments.
Minimum Requirements
1. Experience as a Commissioning Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, Automation Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Electronic Technician, Electronic Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Service Technician, or similar with PLC programming knowledge.
2. Proficiency in PLC programming, ideally with Siemens TIA Portal or similar.
3. Experience working in hazardous areas and familiarity with safety protocols.
4. Strong knowledge of high-pressure gas compression systems is advantageous.
5. Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings.
6. Competent on various electronic Control Systems such as PLC controls, automation software, or similar related to high-pressure technical engineering systems.
7. Willingness to travel extensively (60-70% of the time) within Europe and stay away for extended periods (separation allowance provided).
8. Commutable to Sunderland when not travelling.
