Job Description
As a Tax Compliance & Reporting Manager you will be responsible for helping ensure that the group meets its direct tax obligations and in providing accurate and timely tax information to the business.
We are a FTSE 100 business with revenues in excess of £5bn, an annual tax bill in excess of £1bn and we’re a Top 20 UK taxpayer. You'll work within a Compliance & Reporting tax team of 5 based in Nottingham, and a wider global tax team of 25 to help us meet our obligations.

What you will do
CT computation and return preparation:
* Planning and management of the process, including liaising with the finance teams and external providers (e.g. accounts tagging) to agree the information requirements and the appropriate timetable
* Review and submission of UK returns and computations using Alphatax software
* Dealing with corporate interest restriction, double tax relief claims, capital allowance reviews, group relief, tax loss planning, CFC reporting, etc.
* Calculation of quarterly corporation tax payments on account for the UK companies for payment to HMRC
Tax accounting and reporting:
* Preparing tax calculations and providing the tax disclosure information for group year end and interim accounts, and statutory accounts for all UK group companies
* Coordinate the overseas tax position to incorporate into the group year end and interim tax workings
* Liaise with auditors in respect of the above
Tax planning and forecasting
* Consider opportunities that may be relevant to the group that will minimise risks and add value
* Manage and maximise the corporation tax attributes of the group
* Preparation of quarterly tax forecast workings to feed into the Group Finance forecasting process
SAO reporting:
* Share responsibility for the UK corporation tax and control environment
* Improve processes, put in place actions where required and update documented procedures
* Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the group’s UK tax compliance cycle
Other reporting:
* Coordination of finance and wider tax teams to prepare annual Country-by-Country Reporting submissions
* Preparation of annual submission to PwC’s Total Tax Contribution survey
* Support the Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting in implementation of a framework for groupwide and country-specific Pillar 2 compliance and reporting obligations.
Liaising with HMRC:
* Support the Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting in managing HMRC enquiries
* Ensure tax administration matters are dealt with on a timely basis
* Build a good working relationship with HMRC on Corporation tax matters
Withholding tax calculations and reporting:
* Review CT61s and other compliance returns ensuring payment and filing requirements are met
* Monitor and manage treaty relief applications as required in respect of intragroup financing and royalty arrangements
Other:
* Keep up to date with all relevant legislation, thinking strategically about tax risk management and the consequential impact on Entain’s effective tax rate
* Develop a thorough understanding of how the business operates such that the impact of changes to tax legislation are quickly identified and addressed
* Working collaboratively with the wider international and indirect tax teams to ensure all taxes are considered in advice provided to the wider Entain business
* Build a network of contacts in the business outside of the immediate tax and group finance team
* Identify best practice improvements in corporation tax processes, including the use of new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
* Recognised tax qualification (e.g. Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)) with a minimum of five years post-qualification experience
* Prior experience of working within a FTSE 100 company or similar large-scale organisation in industry or practice
* High integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
* Analytical mindset with ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation.
* Strong team player with excellent communication skills
* Ability to prioritise effectively and work to tight deadlines
* In-depth knowledge of tax legislation and application to a large group of companies
* Experience of UK corporation tax compliance processes.
* Experience of accounting for tax under IFRS and FRS 102
* Highly proficient in Excel.
* Prior experience of using Alphatax and / or data analytics tools (e.g. Alteryx) preferable
