This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a small friendly team undertaking reception and administrative duties for both the Outpatient and Minor Injuries departments.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Main duties of the job
1. Act as a first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, carers, visitors and other healthcare and service professionals, providing a positive and responsive point of contact on behalf of the Trust.
2. Operate the telephone system and direct calls to relevant staff members, also deal with enquiries efficiently, taking accurate messages and disseminating them to the relevant person.
3. Utilise good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills and Training
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent level of knowledge of office procedures
Job Specific Experience
* Previous experience within a comparable role
* Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
Information Technology
* Demonstrable experience of using word processing, spreadsheet, database
* Basic IT skills, normally obtained through practice or practical training
Personal Qualities/Attributes
* Evidence of good communication skills, both verbal and written
* Demonstrable ability to prioritise effectively and use own initiative where needed within sphere of responsibility.
