Job description
We currently have a vacancy for a Registered Manager to support our Children’s Residential home in Southend-On-Sea Area. The service will support children with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and associated needs. The home currently is approved to place 4 young people but with an initial approval for 6 young people.
We are looking for leaders who can drive this service to the next level ad achieve its full potential.
Looking for experienced Registered Managers who share a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for young people placed in our home as well as making sure that they receive an outstanding standard of service.
This could also be an opportunity for experienced Deputy Manager’s to step up to the next level in their career. Hence, experienced deputy managers with adequate supervisory experience and a track record of successfully leading a team of professionals in delivering excellent service for children in a regulated environment may also apply.
The ability and skills to develop an outstanding service and to remain in compliance with the statutory regulation is essential.
Some of your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: -
* Fulfilling all requirements of an Ofsted registered service in maintaining excellent outcomes for children.
* Providing leadership to the team, always acting as a positive role model.
* Providing oversight and management direction with regards to the day-to-day management of the service.
* Reviewing and updating policy documents, procedures and upholding practice standards.
* Managing rotas on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to ensure that the service is resourced appropriately.
* Providing effective management, ongoing development and regular supervision to staff and deputy managers
* Promoting teamwork within the service
* Motivating, supporting, and mentoring the team, including managing challenging situations
* Securing referrals and complete booking procedures for the children attending the service
Taking an active role as a member of the Canary House Care senior management team in providing your experience and support across the Canary House Care Services
We require interested candidates to possess the following competencies, knowledge, and skills.
* At least two year’s previous experience in leading a team - as a registered manager or a deputy manager - working with young people in an Ofsted regulated residential environment.
* To have sound knowledge of Safeguarding, Care planning, legislation, policy and procedures governing children’s residential homes.
* Thorough knowledge of the Ofsted Framework and Children’s Home Regulations 2015
* Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification is essential. If not, must demonstrate a willingness to work towards this qualification.
* An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required for this role.

Full-time hours:
· 44 per week plus out of hours on-call responsibility

Salary: Up to £50,000.00 - £60,000.00 per year plus performance related bonus options
