North Yorkshire Council’s Property and Land Estate is managed under a Centralised Property Function, or Corporate Landlord Model and consists of over 3,000 land and property assets over a geographical area of 3,341sq miles. The portfolio consists of operational offices, operational buildings delivering front line services, farmland, legacy/surplus land and assets, industrial units, private residential and commercial holdings. It also works with several partners to support land and building requirements including the Police, NHS and 3rd sector organisations. The Role This post will be responsible for the contract management of the North Yorkshire Council compliance and responsive maintenance contractors and for ensuring that appropriate commercial and performance management, contracts process management (including risk management), supplier relationship management and governance are applied over the life of the contract. The post holder will be responsible for the management of two member of staff, and for the provision of advice, guidance and training to other staff within the Property Service section, with the objective of ensuring that contract management arrangements ensure the provision of value for money being obtained in the delivery of repairs and maintenance services. The post holder will also provide support in the development and / or implementation of future strategies and polices.
