Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School (Full-Time, Term-Time Only) Location: Tameside Pay: £89 - £100 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (08:30 – 15:30), term-time only Start Date: ASAP or September 2025 About the Role: Teaching Personnel are working with secondary schools in Greater Manchester who require a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work with pupils demonstrating disruptive or challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will provide consistent, one-to-one mentoring and behaviour coaching to students who are at risk of exclusion, disengagement, or social isolation. You will work alongside the pastoral, SEN and safeguarding teams to support pupils both in and out of the classroom, with a focus on early intervention, de-escalation, and promoting a positive school culture. Key Responsibilities: Deliver structured 1:1 mentoring and support to pupils identified as having behaviour difficulties Support students during transitions, break/lunch duties and reintegration from behaviour sanctions Implement individual behaviour support plans and regularly review outcomes Use a trauma-informed and restorative approach to resolve conflict and rebuild relationships Maintain a visible and supportive presence across school sites to prevent incidents escalating Monitor student progress and feedback regularly to school leaders and families Collaborate with SENCO, Pastoral Leads and Heads of Year on wraparound support Support with parental engagement and home visits where necessary The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs A calm, confident and consistent manner with strong behaviour management strategies Experience working in youth work, pupil referral units, care, or alternative provisions A passion for inclusion and supporting disengaged learners to succeed The ability to use initiative and adapt to the needs of different pupils throughout the day All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
