This is a warm and nurturing primary school dedicated to providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for our youngest learners. We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team and support children as they take their first steps in education. This role begins September 2025.
Duties as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework .
* Assist children with their learning, social skills, and personal development .
* Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe and valued.
* Encourage children’s independence, confidence, and communication skills .
* Support learning through play, including sensory activities, storytelling, and creative tasks.
* Work with small groups or individual children who need additional support.
* Help with classroom organisation, including setting up resources and displays.
* Support children with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and hygiene, where necessary.
* Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and other staff members .
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all children, following school policies and safeguarding procedures.
Ideal Reception Year Teacher:
* Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) .
* Experience working with Early Years or young children in a school or nursery setting.
* A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children.
* A good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant.
* A passion for creating fun, engaging, and supportive learning experiences .
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children .
