The Role:
The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the university, providing strategic financial leadership, and ensuring robust financial planning, reporting, and governance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and operations of the institution, working closely with senior leadership, academic departments, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the finance department, managing a team of finance professionals, and ensuring efficient financial operations.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the university's long-term goals and priorities.
Oversee the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and reports in compliance with regulations and accounting standards.
Provide financial analysis and advice to senior management, helping to drive informed decision-making.
Monitor and manage cash flow, investments, and financial risks.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders, including the Board of Governors, funding bodies, and regulatory agencies.
Lead financial forecasting, budgeting processes, and cost control mechanisms.
Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to ensure financial efficiency and sustainability across all units.
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and controls.
Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and other key partners.
Key Qualifications:
Education: A relevant degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) are highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in financial management, including leadership experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the higher education sector.

Excellent knowledge of financial management, reporting, and budgeting systems.
Proven ability to influence strategic decision-making at senior levels.
Expertise in financial risk management and compliance with relevant regulations.
