Band 4 Locum Associate Practitioner Histology – Milton Keynes Position: Associate Practitioner – Histology Banding: 4 Location: Milton Keynes Hours: Core hours Rate: £14-£16 P/H The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 4 Associate Practitioner in Histology to work in a busy lab in Milton Keynes. We are looking for a band 4 associate practitioner who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory's cellular histology service. Suitable histology associate practitioner that can do proficient microtomy. What will you be doing in this Associate Practitioner role? You will perform histological tests on tissue samples, including processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining, to prepare them for microscopic examination. You will ensure all laboratory procedures comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will participate in internal and external quality assurance programs. You will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. You will troubleshoot and report any malfunctions. Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position: Previous experience working in a UK NHS Histology laboratory is essential. Relevant qualification in Biomedical Science (e.g., BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent). Must be proficient in microtomy, embedding, and staining techniques. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Why work with Pulse?
