Position: Catering Assistant

Working Hours: 10 hours per week, term time working 38.4 weeks per year plus 20 hours staff engagement.
Your Role:
Do you have a passion for working with children in a school setting? As a Catering Assistant (CA), you will work fixed hours during term time without split shifts, nights, or weekends, which is ideal for childcare needs. Your duties include moving furniture and setting up dining halls prior to service, keeping the kitchen clean and safe, getting involved with food preparation, and assisting with food service. You will attend two school kitchen cleaning days prior to the start of the Autumn term and work closely with the school chef.
About You:
Are you passionate about food and dedicated to providing excellent service? A CA must be flexible, dynamic, and able to work with reduced kitchen staffing for short periods. You will need fantastic customer service skills, remain calm under pressure, and promote a professional image that reflects Team Wigan behaviours. You will support the school chef and team members in preparing, serving, and delivering quality meals that energize and inspire school children.
