Mechanical Maintenance Manager – Hard Services Provider – SE London - up to 60K
One of our long-standing clients is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to work as part of their busy estates team to help service and maintain one of their most important contracts based in South East London.
They are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager who will be able to provide a first-class customer service, organize, manage, and motivate their engineering team, and support senior management.
The role will also involve reporting directly to the Estates Director, with whom you will work closely on a day-to-day basis.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8-5. The main duties of the role include:
* Control of all mechanical services and management of all associated engineering contracts.
* Manage all statutory compliance.
* Control of all building services, infrastructure, maintenance, and repairs.
* Assist with project management of building refurbishment projects.
* Ensure all plant, backup, and monitoring systems are maintained in good working order, including regular testing and compliance with legislation.
* Support troubleshooting engineering support.
* Support and adjust infrastructure as needed, liaising with user groups, preparing documentation, appointing contractors, and supervising sites.
* Control all relevant outsourced contracts.
* Ensure contractors adhere to procedures and legislation.
* Carry out cost checks to ensure value for money.
* Chair regular update meetings with contract managers.
* Manage mechanical-related incidents and outages.
* Identify and deliver additional work opportunities and technical solutions through leadership.
* Provide technical guidance to maintain high standards and swiftly rectify defects.
* Coordinate resources for technical and innovative solutions.
* Lead sustainability initiatives to improve energy consumption, seeking efficient technologies and proposals.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Recognized apprenticeship and fully mechanically qualified (e.g., C&G, HNC/HND).
* Proven background in hard services maintenance.
* Experience managing contractors.
* Experience working within estate environments, hospitals, healthcare.
* Strong team player capable of prioritizing and solving problems under pressure, utilizing innovative solutions.
* Committed to working in a professional environment.
* Strong people management skills.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
