An opportunity has arisen within the Colorectal Department at Royal Derby Hospital for a Pathway Support Medical Secretary to join the Colorectal secretarial team.
In this role the post holder will provide support to the Colorectal Medical Secretaries with administrative support to the Colorectal Consultants and wider clinical team.
Applicants must be confident communicators with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels. You will need to have proven organisational skills, good knowledge of IT systems, and be able to confidentially deal with queries from patients and staff. You will need to be an enthusiastic, motivated team player, with excellent problem-solving skills.
Previous administration experience is essential, ideally in the NHS; however, full training on IT systems and processes will be provided.
* Editing and dispatch of clinical correspondence related to NHS medical patients within agreed timescales and quality standards.
* Be a point of contact for patients and medical staff, ensuring queries are answered with skill, sensitivity, and in a courteous and professional manner.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of Word, Excel, T-Pro, Ormis, Cito, and email systems.
* Diary management.
* Telephone queries.
* Working to strict Trust and Government policies and waiting list management and 18 weeks guideline.
* Supporting Medical Secretaries with booking patients for surgery.
* Support Medical Secretaries with general administration.
