As part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract awarded to Oxleas NHS trust in 2022, we are looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable and motivated Staff Nurse to join our friendly team at HMP Guys Marsh.
As a staff nurse, you will provide high quality primary care services and a range of specialist interventions for offenders. At HMP Guys Marsh, we deliver a nurse-led integrated primary care service and operate a specialist practice-based clinical model of care.
You will be delivering high quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison, demonstrating robust expert clinical skills and providing evidence-based nursing practice to those in prison.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison.
2. Provide acute & primary care, long term conditions management, enhanced assessment and diagnostic intervention services, and health promotion activities.
3. Support the development of evidence-based practice in the specialist field and promote research as appropriate.
4. Participate in managerial and professional clinical supervision programme, training, and annual appraisal.
5. Work collaboratively with the Clinical Lead, GPs, and other clinicians to meet and review service needs.
6. Ensure effective and appropriate patient centred care planning tools are implemented.
7. Ensure a named care co-ordinator is allocated for every patient with complex needs.
8. Undertake training to maximise uptake of screening, health promotion and prevention activity, including vaccinations.
9. Work positively and effectively in a difficult and often hostile environment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ:
All applicants must be willing to undertake National Security Vetting in order to work in a Prison Setting. This will be completed as part of the pre-employment checks through Oxleas and the prison vetting team.
Requirements:
1. Proof of right to work documentation.
2. Proof of ID, needs to include 1 photographic ID.
3. Proof of address documentation.
4. 5 years address history will be needed.
