More detail about the role This is a wonderful opportunity to join our expanding breast oncology nurse team in delivering safe, patient focused care and supporting our senior clinicians with the ever growing caseload of patients receiving oncology treatment for early and secondary breast cancer. The role will include providing support, advice and signposting to patients during and beyond their treatment. You will be able to monitor blood results, scan results and symptoms, knowing when and where to escalate any concerns. You will support the patients with complex treatment regimes, liaising with the consultants, acute oncology team, seamoor unit and pharmacy to ensure the best outcomes for patients on active treatment. You will develop caring, professional relationships with patients and their family, often being the first port of call when they have queries. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in oncology, acute medicine or breast cancer. You will be flexible, able to prioritise needs, keen to develop services and a team player. You will be able support patients with empathy and understanding, balancing their needs with the services available, often having to think outside of the box to personalise care. You will be keen to develop your knowledge and skills, provide education and support to student nurses, new members of staff and other health professionals Working Pattern: Monday to Friday.
