Assistant Project Engineer
A prestigious Engineering Company based in Loughborough is looking for an Assistant Project Engineer to join them.
The position reports to the Project Manager and involves assisting with the production of general engineering drawings for a range of Low Voltage Switchboards, using AutoCAD.
This role also involves contacting customers and suppliers, so excellent communication skills are required.
Additionally, practical "hands-on" experience is needed, ideally including panel building, as you will assist in the build of the products.
General Responsibilities
* Placing orders using the Sage ordering system.
* Confirming delivery dates to customers.
* Producing drawings of switchboards by modifying parts/layout of existing diagrams using AutoCAD/SEE Electrical & PDF Editor software.
* Producing electrical wiring diagrams using IGE-AXO Electrical software.
* Helping with the smooth running of contracts, contacting customers when needed for information.
* Assisting with testing and setting up of panels.
* Preparing and providing quotes to customers (working with Project Engineer/Director).
* Reporting to the Project Engineer and working with the drawing office team.
Job Requirements
* Ideally have experience with a range of Low Voltage switchgear.
* Ideally have experience on 415VAC systems, 630-6300A ratings, metering & devices.
* Willing to learn about the product and equipment used within it.
* Willing to travel within the UK (under the guidance of an experienced engineer initially).
* Have a basic understanding of AutoCAD and be willing to learn our industry standard IGE-AXO Electrical wiring diagram package.
* Computer literate.
* Be able to work as part of a small team.
* Be proactive with customers and maintain good communication.
* Be able to work independently and communicate effectively with customers.
* Have good communication and administration skills.
* Willing to work overtime both during the week and on Saturday mornings if required.
