About the role
Ethics & Sustainability (E&S) are central to our mission. We seek a Sustainability & Ethics Manager within the Social Impact & Health team. You will help accelerate our E&S plans across Waitrose and John Lewis, contributing to our Social Impact & Health action plan and engaging with NGOs and charities to maximize shared value.
Key responsibilities
* Co-own the social impact and health action plan, impact assessment methodology, and reporting
* Promote high-quality social impact programs at the community level
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver and profile social impact initiatives
* Manage charity partnerships and fundraising activities
* Oversee programs supporting vulnerable customers and communities, including Healthy Happy Home, Community Matters, and FareShare
* Participate in the Building Happier Futures Committee of the John Lewis Partnership Foundation
* Ensure legal compliance and responsible budget management
* Manage 2 direct reports
Essential skills
* Degree or relevant experience in a related field
* Experience delivering social impact programs and impact measurement
* Excellent communication skills
* Stakeholder management and organizational skills
* Interest in Ethics & Sustainability, especially social impact and health
Desirable skills
* People management experience
