Salary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Component Installer to join our federal team based at York, PA.
We're keeping the Navy cool. Literally. Our team at the Grantley Plant custom designs, develops and manufactures complex chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels around the world. This position consists of performing operations required to plan, lay out, assemble, wire and test complex electrical systems on special engineered chiller systems. Operations include working from drawings, orders, schematics, specifications, codes, and instructions. Make layouts of conduit and cable runs, calculate, make necessary bends, cut to length, flare or thread. Wire in high voltage motors, check motor protection, mount, connect control panels, starters. Make operational tests. Check, operate, test safety devices, interlocks, system gauging controls, relay sequencing, repair, and replace components. Terminate and code wires.
Use steel tape, electrical measuring instruments, hand power tools, ladder, and appropriate material handling equipment.
Pay Rate: $28.75 per hour, plus a $0.70/hour Shift differential. (Increased 9/9/2024)
Bonus Eligible: Yes
Shift: 2nd Shift hours, Monday-Friday (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm)

As an Electrical Component Installer, you will:
* Perform routine installation and checkout on a variety of electrical systems utilizing codes, company procedures, schematics, and/or engineering drawings.
* Install raceways, cables, and wiring to meet local codes, standards, and customer system requirements.
* Make layouts of conduit and cable runs, calculate, make necessary bends, cut to length, flare or thread.
* Wire in low to high voltage motors, check motor protection, mount, connect control panels, starters.
* Make operational tests. Check, operate, test safety devices, interlocks, system gauging controls, relay sequencing, repair, and replace components.
* Terminate and code wires.
* Use steel tape, electrical measuring instruments, hand power tools, ladder, and appropriate material handling equipment.
* Mount and terminate controls equipment as needed.
* Adhere to Johnson Controls safety programs and policies.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and/or engineering drawings.
* Possesses working knowledge of local electrical codes.
* Experienced in scope determination of installation materials.
* Able to work independently or as part of a team.
Education:
* Electrical apprenticeship (not required).
