Sidney House Surgery is looking for an additional HCA/GPA to join our existing team on a part time basis for 20 hours per week, predominantly in the afternoons and spread over 5 days. Main duties include: Treatment room duties including ECG recordings, phlebotomy, dressings, stitch removal, weight and blood pressure monitoring. Patient health checks. Participating in chronic disease management under the supervision of the nurses, in particular respiratory and diabetic annual reviews, including housebound diabetic reviews. Administering vaccines and immunisations under PSD, including B12, Depot, Shingles, Flu, Pneumo, Zolodex etc. INR clinics under the supervision of the nurses. Chaperoning duties. Processing and management of samples requested by GPs/nurses. Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment. Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording. Other duties may include: Single-use equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation. Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms. Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being. Supporting the admin team with coding clinical correspondence. Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted. About the Candidate If you are a well organised person who thrives on a busy working environment, where no two days are the same, then we would love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent. Ideally a qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture. Strong clinical skills. Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post. Experience within Primary Care and/or Healthcare setting. Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills. Consistently confidential manner as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues. Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organisational and time management skills.
