Job summary Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity of a 12 month fixed-term contract or secondment as the Midlands and East 5 Pathology Network Practice Educator. The role is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills, support development and lead upon the implementation of a workforce education and training strategy within a fledgling Pathology network. The role will be hosted by North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust but will be based across the ME5 Pathology Network which includes three Foundation Trusts - Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS FT, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS FT, North West Anglia NHS FT. The Network also works closely with Royal Papworth Hospital NHS FT Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for engaging with the Pathology services within the ME5 network, other Pathology networks and all Pathology learners to embed a fit-for-purpose training and development structure that will support workforce needs now and establish the infrastructure to equip for workforce needs in the coming years. The aims are to encourage a collaborative approach across multiple organisations to provide robust and sustainable workforce development, that will include training programmes and ensuring sufficient placement capacity. In addition, this role will aim to encourage and support individual departments to achieve and maintain training accreditation from the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS), Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS) and other relevant bodies. The post will offer a suitably experienced Pathology Training Lead the opportunity to contribute to the system transformation agenda and, through working within a multi-professional workforce, the opportunity to develop and advance Pathology professional groups.
