FACILITIES MANAGER | FULL TIME, PERMANENT
8am to 4.30pm, with some flexibility required.
Out of hours cover is needed.

Job Purpose
The Facilities Manager will support the Head of Facilities and the Facilities team in ensuring that the school is safe and well-maintained. They will be responsible for managing the maintenance helpdesk and for ensuring that planned maintenance and compliance tasks are completed and recorded.
The post holder will be expected to manage the contractors working on maintenance and other projects on the school’s estate, along with the Head of Facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Team Management:
1. Lead, manage and develop several members of the Facilities team, including delegating tasks and overseeing daily operations.
2. Assist in the recruitment, training and appraisal of new team members as required.
Site Maintenance and Compliance:
1. Working with the Head of Facilities, ensure that planned preventative maintenance and compliance tasks are carried out to schedule and logs are maintained.
2. Oversee general maintenance, including managing the maintenance helpdesk and ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
3. Manage external contractors, including obtaining quotes and ensuring value for money and service level agreements are achieved.
4. Carry out routine inspections of site to ensure that it is clean and presentable.
5. Ensure the site and buildings meet all legal and regulatory requirements.
6. Ensure the team and external contractors comply with health, safety and environmental regulations and school policies.
Facilities Coordination:
1. Assist in the smooth running and management of the school’s facilities and assist with operational matters as required.
2. Coordinate with various departments to ensure the effective use of space and resources.
3. Assist in the management of external lettings.
4. Coordinate the school’s bus bookings, including liaison with the bus management company for the daily school bus routes.
5. Coordinate office moves, space planning and minor refurbishment projects.
6. Create and monitor programmes of works during school holidays.
7. Manage document filing and retention for the Facilities team.
8. Manage maintenance and materials budgets.
9. Assist the team with room set up and moves as required.
10. Be part of the out of hours emergency site rota.
11. Some minibus driving may be required.
Safeguarding:
1. Adhere to school policy on safeguarding and child protection at all times and attend training as required.
2. Ensure all work done by external contractors operates within the school’s policies on safeguarding and child protection.
