A Day in the Life
In the Pricing, Contract and Tender Management team, we are making sure that Purchasing Authorities, Hospitals, Clinics, Distributors and Patients can purchase our products at the agreed prices. We also support the business by setting up the right prices and supporting them with market access. The job is exciting, we carry a high level of responsibility with many different work objectives – two days are never the same, and we work both strategically and operationally. Each contract we manage is unique; and we work across the organization with various requirements and many stakeholders both inside and outside of the company. It is a fast-paced environment, and it is easy to get passionate about the job we do. We play a central role within Medtronic and find it rewarding to create dedicated outputs and receive the immediate results for our efforts. This is a hybrid role based in Watford.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
* You will be responsible for handling all administrative tasks from tender award till contract expiration and renewal. You will ensure contracts are reviewed and interpreted to align with internal processes and commitment. This includes reviewing terms and conditions, negotiating terms that can impose a risk to Medtronic.
* You will be the go-to person for the purchasers in your region and it is expected that you know your stakeholders and what initiatives are currently on-going.
* You are the Gatekeeper for all contracts and the owner of the contract repository, finalizing contracts, collecting signatures and loading contract prices from Vendavo to SAP.
* During the lifecycle of the contract, you will be monitoring the possibility of a price increase in cooperation with the tender strategist and the business units as well as responsible for maintaining contract master data, providing statistics, maintaining and actively improving contractual e-catalogues.
* You will be responsible for developing relationships with Procurement departments and leading negotiations on outstanding contractual issues and process improvement as well as ensuring changes are implemented and communicated internally.
* You will be responsible for understanding customers’ requirements and obligations and attend post-award meetings.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience.
* 2 to 3 years’ experience from the local healthcare industry, or similar, working with tenders, contracts or procurement.
* Excellent English writing & verbal communication skills.
* Attention to details coupled with an analytical mindset, self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
* Ability to understand process flows, implement these and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Proactive and able to multitask – can switch between tasks and handle multiple projects.
* Great collaboration skills and ability to build and maintain trust with stakeholders and colleagues.
Previous work experience from the medical device industry as well as project management and negotiation skills would be a clear advantage. As would knowledge of contract concepts, contract law or regulations and SAP software. Positive attitude, good sense of humor and socializing skills are great benefits, in short, a great, reliable colleague.
