The Head Houseparent is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the boarding program, ensuring the highest standards of care and education in line with the National Minimum Standards for Boarding.
This role involves overseeing the welfare, safety, and development of all boarding pupils in their houses, as well as leading and managing their boarding staff team. The Head Houseparent is also responsible for the professional review and development of line-managed staff to maintain and enhance the quality of the boarding provision. They will always maintain a professional appearance, setting a positive example for pupils and staff.
The role is one which requires visionary leadership. It requires an individual to foster a supportive and collaborative approach, ensuring the boarding programme mirrors the school’s Mission, Values, and objectives. This is a key position, where you will be the “front of house” for your direct colleagues and girls under your supervision, which requires clear communication, empathy, organisation, direction, and passion.
