We are looking for an analytical and results-oriented Games Monetization Manager to join our team, focused on delivering impactful insights and actionable recommendations for the games business. You will partner closely with both external game developers and internal cross-functional teams within Apple to identify business growth opportunities while providing amazing experiences for our mutual customers, and on informing the App Store’s games monetization strategy and policy. The principal focus of this role is on game developers based in western markets, and the role reports to the Head of Business Planning & Monetization, App Store International.
Description
Provide actionable recommendations to external game developer partners on how to grow their business by improving user acquisition, engagement, retention and monetization on the App Store. With a focus on the games category, partner with internal cross-functional stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and influence App Store product and policy decisions related to app business models and in-app monetization, supported by in-depth quantitative analysis. Support efforts to grow App Store feature adoption among the developer community, as well as the development of new feature proposals. Develop new analytical frameworks, tools and templates that deliver unique insights that only the App Store can deliver, and that enable us to partner with developers in a data-informed manner. Provide regular updates on and support deep-dives into App Store business performance as well as market and competitive intelligence, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
* Extensive experience in free-to-play gaming business performance, monetization and/or product management, with in-depth understanding of key metrics used and how to optimise them.
* Deep knowledge of in-game monetization mechanics and economy design for free-to-play games including innovation in the space, as well as in the games industry more broadly.
* Extensive experience in conducting in-depth quantitative analysis, using tools such as Excel / Numbers and Tableau.
* Proven ability to use data and insights to identify impactful actionable recommendations.
* Demonstrable track record of preparing and delivering compelling presentations, including the ability to craft persuasive narratives supported by compelling data visualizations in Keynote / Powerpoint, with exceptional attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
* Proven ability to prioritize workloads, manage interdependencies and deliver against tight deadlines whilst supporting multiple projects at the same time.
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
* Demonstrable experience in driving one’s own projects forward in a proactive manner, demonstrating critical thinking abilities and skill at navigating roadblocks.
* Prior experience in strategy or business operations, gained from either work experience in management consulting or from an in-house strategy/business operations team in corporate.
* Passionate about mobile free-to-play gaming, and about what the App Store can do for both our customers and our external game developer partners.
