To provide and facilitate quality nursing care to the critically ill patient Rostered to take charge regularly of department and deputise for team leader To facilitate the process of education and development of nursing and non-nursing staff within the team Provide specialist advice for multidisciplinary staff working within the unit and as an Outreach resource To contribute to the overall development of clinical practice within critical care To support Modern Matron and Senior Sisters in the effective management of resources and personnel issues over a 24 hr period To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
