Position summary: As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Production Control and Procurement Team to provide the forecasting, workload and resourcing plans to support the efficient running of the plant. Reporting into the Assistant Senior Accounts Commercial Manager you will drive performance excellence through continuous improvement focusing on systems automation and cross-functional alignment. Alongside, scheduling production in line with capacity constraints to maintain customer service levels working with the production departments in attaining their performance metrics through maximizing efficiency and the procurement of raw materials to optimize the efficiency of the production departments. In addition, the job holder will be a support to the Finance in relation to budget setting, forecasting and monthly reporting.
Main job functions: this list is not exhaustive or limited to the below:
1. To ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all Staff, specifically within the Department. Ensuring all staff are correctly inducted, trained and have the relevant risk assessments, and safe systems of work, and ensuring Staff are following these rules.
2. Business Plan formulation and monthly reviews.
3. Budget formulation and review against targets for both the planning team and support finance team with companywide setting and reporting.
4. Generation of Management reports for the area, critiqued against departmental KPI’s and Financial reporting data such as month, quarter or yearend data collation and analysis.
5. Working with production management to ensure the Production areas are correctly resourced; you’ll evaluate production forecasting, and plan workload, and the supply and demand of materials.
6. Monitor and report performance against plan, continuously striving to improve weekly compliance to schedule.
7. You will be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of data recording.
8. Responsible for the maintenance and measurement of suppliers and setting improvement plans where required.
9. Responsible for the identification, and reduction of stock obsolescence.
10. You will support the Production Manager in the achievement of companywide manpower, financial and production targets, and analyze performance (product, resource, costs, and productivity) to identify efficiency improvements.
11. You will be responsible for safeguarding the performance of your unit; meeting budgetary targets, and ensuring quality of service for our customers, along with responsibility for the overall safety of the people you manage.
12. Effective management of Budgets.
13. Ensure effective two-way communication to Staff and Managers, ensuring consistency and effectiveness of all rules, procedures and issues.
14. Direct management of the Department’s KPI’s ensuring they are in line with Company and Unit objectives.
15. Responsible for all departmental policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively reviewed/updated and are in line with Company policies.
16. ISO9001 Management and maintenance of the Departmental Quality Plan and all related procedures.
