Deputy Childrens Home Manager (Level 3 Qualified - Childrens Residential) Liverpool Salary: £30k - £45k NO SPONSORSHIP DRIVING LICENCE ESSENTIAL CHILD-FOCUSED PROVIDER WITH STRONG PROVEN EXPEREINCE IN THE SECTOR About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to join a children's residential home based in Liverpool, providing high-quality care and support to young people with complex needs. You will assist the Registered Manager in the daily operations of the home, ensuring compliance with OFSTED regulations and fostering a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for the children. Key Responsibilities: Support the Registered Manager in the overall management and leadership of the home. Ensure high standards of care in line with Children's Homes Regulations and OFSTED requirements. Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Residential Support Workers, promoting professional development. Maintain a child-centred approach, ensuring individual care plans are followed and regularly reviewed. Assist with safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies. Promote a positive and supportive environment that encourages the children's emotional, social, and educational development. Manage staff rotas, performance, and training requirements. Handle incident reporting, record-keeping, and liaising with external agencies, social workers, and families. Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence. Essential Requirements: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification). A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a children's residential home. At least 1 year of experience in a leadership or Deputy Manager role within a similar setting. Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations, safeguarding, and children's home legislation. Experience managing challenging behaviours and implementing positive behaviour strategies. Leadership, team management, and staff development experience. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it). Experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), autism, or learning disabilities. Understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches.
