The role In this role, you'll lead a team to deliver financial advisory and analytics services for the Botanic Gardens of Sydney, guiding executive and senior management with expert insights in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. By ensuring transparent, data-driven support, you’ll aid in setting and monitoring budgets, developing business cases, and advising on savings initiatives—all aligned with organizational goals and government objectives. You'll work at least three days per week in an approved Botanic Gardens office—our offices are located within the beautiful gardens at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, and Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah. You will be required to attend the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney office at least one day per week. Please note: The Mount Annan and Mount Tomah offices are not easily accessible by public transport. Initiative and sound judgment in complex situations, with a strong ability to independently address challenges. In-depth knowledge of the Government Sector Finance Act 2018, Treasurer's Directions, and Australian Accounting Standards, along with an understanding of relevant Government policies. What is an essential requirement: A member of a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & NZ with demonstrated post qualification experience in a senior finance and business advisory role.
