Lead Dietitian at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROH)

As a Lead Dietitian, you will drive the strategic delivery of exceptional inpatient and outpatient nutritional services, championing nutrition and hydration excellence across the ROH. This pivotal role offers you the chance to lead, innovate, and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
What You’ll Do
1. Lead Nutritional Services: Collaborate with dedicated teams, hospital leads, matrons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding care.
2. Service Development: Use your expertise to enhance and monitor service quality, ensuring it meets the highest standards.
3. Innovate Through Evidence: Conduct audits and create insightful reports to demonstrate service impact, contributing to the service level agreement.
4. Provide a high-quality evidence-based service to patients within the inpatient and outpatient setting.
5. This post has a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and ongoing dietetic management of complex clients within an inpatient multidisciplinary team.
6. Provide clinical and nutritional support with catering to ensure dietary needs are met and patient choice facilitated.
7. Adhere to the standards of conduct, performance, and ethics and the Dietitians’ standards of proficiency of the Health & Care Professions Council.
8. Act in a professional manner promoting the organisation, the role of the Dietitian, and the importance of nutritional care.
9. Maintain a complex clinical caseload within the ROH, including liaison with other health professionals, suppliers, patients, and carers.
10. Plan and deliver individualised nutritional care plans based on comprehensive assessments of needs and evidence-based practice.
11. Negotiate and agree dietary or nutritional goals with individual patients and/or their carers.
12. Have a lead role in clinical audit around nutritional standards.
13. Undertake nutritional analysis for inpatient meals.
