Job Overview
This is a full-time appointment for a Specialty Doctor to work across our general-adult inpatient wards. Successful candidates will be part of a multidisciplinary team including consultant psychiatrists, doctors in training, advanced nurse practitioners, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, and support workers.
Main Duties of the Job
Job responsibilities include:
Clinical Roles:
* Attend ward rounds, conduct reviews, and create management plans for patients on the ward, including chairing ward rounds and making decisions about patient care in the absence of the consultant.
* Complete, review, and authorize discharge summaries as required.
* MHA work including preparation of tribunal reports and presenting evidence at tribunal hearings.
* Assess and manage physical health for patients on the inpatient wards.
Leadership Roles:
* Participate in leading clinical decision-making in the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care.
* Be involved in developing service clinical priorities in line with national and professional guidance and standards.
* Engage in clinical governance activities such as audits and quality improvement projects.
Educational Roles:
* Provide supervision and support to doctors in training working with the team.
* Provide teaching to medical students and doctors in training working in the trust.

Experience:
* 4 years Post Graduate Experience
* 2 Years Experience in Psychiatry
