Your new role
The University’s IT Marketing andmunications team is seeking a talentedmunications Officer, on a full-time basis for a period of up to six months. If you’re passionate about effectivemunication and engagement, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make an impact within our dynamic environment.
You’ll collaborate closely with a close-knit team to deliver impactfulmunications to IT colleagues, as well as staff and students across the University. Your primary focus will be on internalmunications, but you’ll also contribute to supporting IT projects and change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Internalmunications:
Work alongside themunications Manager and Internalmunications Lead to plan, produce, deliver, and evaluate internalmunications activities. Your goal is to engage staff and students within the department and across the University.
2. Content Creation:
Draft and editpelling copy, conduct interviews, and perform research to create content for various channels. This includes maintaining schedules,munication plans, and supporting engagement activities such as staff events.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
Write and delivermunications to a diverse range of stakeholders through online, face-to-face, and print channels. Ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the University’s brand and house style guidelines.

Experience:
Previous experience inmunications, ideally within higher education or the public sector.
10. Content Planning:
Familiarity with content and campaign planning.
11. Internalmunications Knowledge:
Understand best practices in internalmunications.
12. Interpersonal Skills:
Excellent teamwork and collaboration abilities.
13. Stakeholder Management:
Proven track record of successful collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
14. IT Proficiency:
Strong skills in Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams).
15. Alignment:

What you'll get in return
At £345 per day, in scope of IR35, this role offers flexibility, including start and finish times, hybrid working options, and a 35-hour working week. You’ll spend two days per week in the University campus offices (typically Tuesday and Wednesday when other team members are present) and three days working from home, with flexibility.
