About us We Support LTD is an established Supported Living provider across Cheshire and Trafford. We support young adults (16 - 65) with learning disabilities, using a Positive Behaviour Support Approach. All of our services are 24 hours support services where staff will work with the same person/people each week in the same house in order to build a strong, trusting and caring relationship. We are not a domiciliary care company. Employees will generally work at one location and do not do "house visits" traveling between services Our work environment includes: Working in people's homes supporting their day to day lives Extremely rewarding Work with the same people each week and build strong relationships with vulnerable young adults Casual work attire On-the-job training and lots of support given Safe and professional work environment We are recruiting 2-4 support workers, preferably with experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs (including challenging behaviour) with an awareness of Positive Behaviour Support and the importance this plays in every aspect of support. These roles will have permanent, fixed rotas, working alternative weekends. Some sleep ins are required as well as some waking night work. A permanent variable hours contract will be issued with a minimum of 30 hours per week. salary based on 6 week rolling rota; £12ph, £65 per sleep. 38 hours avg per week and 1 sleep per week Duties: Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills Create and implement individualized support plans based on the needs and goals of each individual. Taking them out to participate in activities including Swimming, Bowling and the cinema. Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the well-being of the individuals Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Empathy and compassion for individuals with disabilities or special needs Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of individuals Patience and understanding in challenging situations Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in the field Please note that this is a general overview of the duties and skills required for the position of Support Worker.
