Our newly formed Projects and Property Team is looking to recruit a Project Technical Lead who will be vital in providing a comprehensive technical support to the Projects & Property Team and to the Council and its Directorates in terms of its existing and future property assets.
From major infrastructure projects to new schools, from regeneration and maintenance projects to council estate transformation you will be key in delivering sustainable, inclusive, and low carbon growth; you will support the Senior Technical Manager to make sure these projects are delivered in line with our sustainable and green ambitions while meeting the commitments within the North Somerset Corporate Plan.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you will provide comprehensive building advice to the Council covering all types of property, with a focus on effective maintenance. Undertake the supervision and management of repair and renewal works to the corporate property of the Council. Undertaking condition surveys of a wide variety of non-residential property and preparing plans to maintain robust programmes for ensuring that property is compliant with statutory regulations.
The Technical Project Lead will support the Projects and Property in providing building advice in relation to the assessment of contractual liabilities, preparation of schedules of condition and dilapidations and the negotiation of claims. To undertake audits and inspections of property for a broad range of purposes including energy management and disability access compliance

Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role within North Somerset.
This position is currently based at our Castlewood offices in Clevedon.
Please be advised that this office will be closed by 2025. Consultation is currently underway to determine the new location for colleagues based in Castlewood; This will be at Weston-super-Mare or within North Somerset.
