Your role will involve offering emotional support, practical assistance, and guidance to help them balance their caregiving responsibilities with their personal development and well-being.

We are looking to recruit an innovative, passionate, dynamic and multi skilled professional to support adult young carers. You will be expected to identify and develop gaps in support and services.
You will be able to communicate effectively with children and young people, be flexible in your working hours to meet the needs of children and their families and undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade and role.
Provide a listening ear and emotional support to young adult carers, helping them cope with the challenges of their caregiving role.
Assist with accessing resources, services, and benefits that can alleviate the burden of caregiving.
Advocate on behalf of young adult carers to ensure their needs are recognised and met by relevant organisations and institutions.
Organise and facilitate training opportunities to equip young adult carers with skills and knowledge to manage their responsibilities effectively.
Build and maintain relationships with local community organisations, healthcare providers, and educational institutions to create a supportive network for young adult carers.
Alongside your line manager, regularly assess the progress and well-being of young adult carers, providing feedback and adjusting support plans as needed.
The role requires a relevant Level 3 or above professional qualification in Social Care, and Level 1 & 2 in Safeguarding along with proven experience of working with children and adults in a community setting.
Experience of working with other agencies, undertaking assessments, attending meetings, supporting transition from Young Carers to adult carers and delivering interventions, with a good understanding and sound working knowledge of legislation, guidance and standards related to children and adult support services is essential.
Access to a vehicle for work purposes is a requirement.
