The Role: Working closely with the Manager of Technical Services and the Asset Management Coordinator, you will play an instrumental role in the efficient management of our infrastructure assets. You will have responsibility for providing crucial support in asset management administration and research activities. Applying asset management administration requirements in a local government environment Supporting end-of-period and year reconciling and reporting procedures Managing information control and administration for Infrastructure Asset classifications Assisting in the preparation of annual and revised budgets and financial statements Providing asset management administration support, conducting research, and maintaining confidentiality while assisting senior Council officers Identifying and resolving policies and issues related to local government asset management Explaining asset-related matters to Council auditors during visits For full position description click HERE About You: With a tertiary qualification in either Asset Management, Civil Engineering, Building & Construction or Geographical Information Systems, you will have the following capabilities: Comprehensive knowledge of local government asset management principles, standards and legislative requirements. Proficiency in computerised asset management systems, ideally Technology One or similar ERP An in-depth understanding of accrual accounting and budgeting theory, practice and procedures Skilled in solving work-related problems using knowledge, judgement and gained experience Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Word Effective time management and prioritisation skills Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills Ability to motivate, gain cooperation, discuss and resolve issues Ability to read plans and a background in surveying will be well regarded Operating with integrity and honesty at all times you will be, reliable, adaptable and have a positive attitude The Reward: This is a great region in Queensland for individuals or families to feel safe and to enjoy every advantage of living in and experiencing life outside of a capital city, all while being on the doorstep of The Whitsundays, Daintree Rain Forest and Great Barrier Reef.
