About The Role

As a Gas Lead Engineer, you will provide technical advice and assurance to a team of Engineers, ensuring effective and efficient installation, repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, and service delivery across the geographical area. You will play a crucial role in overseeing technical tasks, performance, and behaviours to meet high-quality standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Health and Safety: Support the Supervisor in promoting health, safety, and welfare within the team. Ensure Engineers understand and fulfil their responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Team Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for the team in the absence of the Supervisor, providing technical advice and support.
3. Quality Control: Conduct pre, ongoing, and post-work inspections and audits of Engineers' work to ensure quality standards are met. Identify and action all non-conformances appropriately.
4. Customer Service: Assist the Supervisor in resolving complaints, visiting customers when necessary, and maintaining effective communication regarding work progress.
5. Fleet Management: Inspect and audit Engineers' vehicles to ensure they are maintained and used correctly and safely. Address any non-conformances appropriately.
6. Business Support: Assist operational colleagues in resolving complex problems, support cross-team working, and manage assigned technical projects within the service area.
This role involves a significant amount of auditing across the geographical area to ensure compliance and quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis working 40 hours per week.

About The Candidate
To be successful in your application for the role of Lead Engineer - Gas, you will have the essential skills and experience for a level one role (please see candidate information pack) and the following role specific skills and experience:
1. Technical Expertise: Provision of technical advice and support to a remote mobile working team, across a geographical area, in the completion of their repairs, maintenance, and installation operations.
2. Communication and Relationships: Communicating and building relationships with internal/external partners and stakeholders.
3. Quality Housing/Construction Knowledge: Knowledge of quality housing/construction maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment.
4. Mobile Technology Experience: Knowledge of and experienced in the use and application of mobile technology.
5. Adaptability and Flexibility: Skills in being able to adapt and be flexible to different customer groups.
6. Health and Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of health and safety legislation and requirements when undertaking construction and maintenance activities.
7. Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
8. Desirable: Experience of working in a team within the construction/maintenance sector.
Qualifications Required:
Essential
1. Apprenticeship or qualification and/or qualified by experience in your core trade.
2. CCN1 (Domestic Core Element).
3. CENWAT1 (Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters).
4. CKR1 (Cookers).
5. HTR1 (Heaters).
Desirable
1. Water Regs WRAS - Required to complete within a reasonable timeframe after successfully passing the probation period.
2. CMDDA1 (Carbon Monoxide/ Dioxide Atmosphere and Appliance Testing).
