Location: Aylesbury
Salary: £42,512 - £50,129 plus a market premium of £2,750 per annum
Overview
Are you passionate about improving the lives of children and young people? Do you want to work for an employer who places major importance on high-quality supervision, wellbeing, and career development?
As a children's social worker, you'll have the incredible opportunity to shape futures and create lasting positive memories. Your role will be more than just a job; it'll be a chance to be a friend, mentor, and advocate. You'll work closely with children, families, schools, and other professionals to ensure that every child's unique needs are met. Your empathy, patience, and dedication will be the driving force behind meaningful change in their lives.
At Buckinghamshire Council, we have an opportunity for a high-calibre, experienced Social Worker in our First Response MASH team. The role will involve joining a busy, fast-paced team whose paramount objective is always a child's well-being and safety.
About Us
Buckinghamshire Council is a relatively new organisation that combines the strengths and expertise of the previous five councils in the county to create positive change for local people, communities, and businesses. We are firmly focused on the future and have made a clear commitment to serve residents better and provide stronger representation for Buckinghamshire, both locally and nationally.
Buckinghamshire is an ambitious, rapidly growing county, boasting one of the strongest economies in the country. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and ranks as one of the top rural areas to live in the UK. The county has a rich history and heritage and is the birthplace of the international Paralympic movement.
We are looking for motivated, ambitious, and inspiring individuals to join us on our journey. You will be entitled to a range of different benefits to ensure you are happy both at work and at home.
About the Role
In this post, you will respond to queries and referrals from various sources and make contact with families and partner agencies. Working under an extremely supportive Head of Service, you will collaborate closely with the Assessment Teams to ensure that children and families are effectively transferred with appropriate risk assessments, priority status, and initial recommendations.
You will also provide day-to-day support and coaching to our Contact and Referral Officers who work within the team.
In return, we offer you a safe, office-based working environment where you will receive excellent training, development, and peer supervision forums. Regular quality one-to-one supervision sessions and group supervisions will be provided, where complex cases are discussed.
About You
You will be a Qualified Social Worker (DipSW or equivalent) with at least two years of post-qualifying experience. Experience of working within a MASH/Referral/Assessment environment is desirable but not essential.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
