We are recruiting for a Static SMART Physiotherapist who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will be expected to provide excellent patient-centred care within our SMART service, utilising evidence-based practice to ensure the best of care is provided to patients.
As a Senior Physiotherapist you will ensure that you are an effective member of our integrated team, being proactive in your approach to your own learning and development and supporting other members of the team to do the same. This role is within an evolving team team so training would be provided for you to support, as required.
You will be working within a nurse-led service but will have professional support and supervision from the inpatient orthopaedic therapists, but the day-to-day senior management will be from nursing staff.
The role currently manages our orthopaedic caseload but with service development, we hope to plan for the introduction of wider services such as respiratory, surgical and the consideration ofvirtual wards and admission avoidance.

Job responsibilities
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work including responsibility of an allocated patient caseload /workload
To undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse and complex presentations and conditions: using clinical reasoning skills and assessment techniques to formulate individualised treatment plans and programmes.
To deliver individualised physiotherapy treatment programmes using a broad range of physiotherapeutic skills in individual and group settings
To continually reassess patient progress, adapting treatment plans accordingly, and developing discharge plans.
To refer patients appropriately to other health and social care services according to protocol providing timely and detailed information to ensure good continuity of care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
1. Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
2. Current Health Professions Council registration
3. Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
4. Post Graduate training courses, other CPD activities
Knowledge
Essential
5. Good knowledge of basis assessment and treatment of patients with orthopaedic, neurological, musculoskeletal and respiratory conditions
6. Knowledge of primary and secondary care services
Experience
Essential
7. Broad range of experience at junior level including highly acute environments with high demand for prioritisation of workloads
8. Experience of responding to demand / prioritising work / managing a caseload
9. Supervision of Physiotherapy students / junior staff
